Booking and schedule

How do I book a session at Culticlayer?

Send contact with service, expected length and a few dates. You can also call 020 737 4821 or write [email protected]. We reply within 3 working days with a proposal and written quote. The date is firm after you accept and pay a 25% deposit.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer for deposit and balance; card in the studio on session day for consumers. Business clients receive an invoice with 21 days to pay. IBAN and reference appear on quote and invoice.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Up to 5 days before start you can move or cancel free of charge. Inside that window the deposit may be forfeited or partly offset per terms and conditions. Illness or force majeure: we look for a fair solution.

How fast do you answer quote requests?

We aim to reply within 3 working days. Complex band or EP plans may take slightly longer while we align the calendar. Hard deadline? Mention it in your first email.

Can minors book on their own?

From age 16 you can submit a request yourself. Younger only with written consent from a parent or guardian who books and pays, and an adult present during the session. See privacy policy on minors' data.

During the session

How long does it take to record a song?

Lead vocals on a three- to four-minute track often need two to four hours of booth time, depending on prep. A well-rehearsed band can lay several basic tracks in one day — see Live band recording.

Can I bring guests?

One or two visitors in control is usually fine. Larger groups: tell us in advance; we keep focus and safety in the live room. Podcasts fit up to 4 guests at the fixed table.

Do you provide instruments?

We have a drum kit, digital piano and space for amp cabs. Bring your own guitars and bass unless agreed otherwise. Headphones are on site; your in-ears are welcome.

What if we run over time?

We extend only if you ask and the next booking allows it. Extra time is billed per started half hour or at the service hourly rate.

What are your opening hours?

Tuesday–Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 12:00–17:00. Closed Sunday and Monday. By appointment only; no walk-ins. Evening sessions are sometimes possible when the engineer can schedule them — ask via contact.

Files and delivery

What file format do I receive?

Default 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz unless your project needs another sample rate. Vocals as labelled takes; mixes as stereo WAV; masters as WAV and optional MP3 on request. Podcast raw as per-track WAV or stereo mix.

How long do you keep sessions?

18 months after the last session or delivery. Then we delete backups per privacy policy. Always keep your own copy.

Can I request stems again later?

While the archive runs, yes — email [email protected] with project name and date. After retention we cannot promise recovery. For mixing, deliver complete sets once; see delivering stems for mix.

How many revision rounds for mix and master?

Mastering usually includes one revision on loudness and balance. Mixing includes up to 2 rounds of feedback on the stereo mix within agreed scope. Major arrangement changes are a new job.

Will you upload to my cloud?

We send a download link or copy to your drive on site. Uploading to your storage works if you share access; mention this at intake for privacy and security.

Rights and privacy

Who owns the recordings?

After full payment for the agreed service, recordings from your project belong to you within terms and conditions. The studio does not claim co-ownership of your music.

May you use my work as a reference?

Only with your explicit written consent. We do not post clips on social media without approval. Portfolio requests are discussed per project.

Do you use voices to train AI?

No. We do not use client recordings to train machine-learning models and we do not clone a voice without written consent from the person involved.

What happens to my contact details?

We use them to reply, send quotes and plan sessions. Retention and rights are in privacy policy. The contact form note explains processing too.

Data processing agreement for business clients?

If we process guests' personal data on your behalf (e.g. a podcast), we can sign a data processing agreement. Request it when booking.

Payment and rates

Are all prices inclusive of VAT?

Consumer prices on the site include 21% VAT. Services also shows ex-VAT columns. Example vocals: €92 per hour incl. VAT.

How much is the deposit?

25% of the quoted amount on confirmation. The balance is due as agreed — usually on session day for consumers.

Can I get an invoice in my company name?

Yes. Send chamber of commerce and VAT IDs via contact. Payment term 21 days unless agreed otherwise. A deposit may still be required on first engagement.

What is not included in the hourly rate?

Outside musicians, special rental gear, heavy tuning beyond standard vocal edit, video production and travel outside the studio. Post-session mix/master has its own rates on mixing and mastering.
